DUT Held Training Lectures on “Global Leadership” for Young Talents

On the morning of June 25th, 2022, the opening ceremony of Dalian University of Technology (DUT)’s second series of training lectures on “global leadership” for young talents was held online. Zhang Chi, Vice President of DUT and Member of the Standing Committee of the CPC DUT Committee, attended the ceremony and delivered an opening speech. As a representative of external experts for the training lectures, Song Yunfu, former director of the Department of Foreign Affairs, Ministry of Health, and the former coordinator of WHO Reform and Partnership for UN, delivered a speech and presented a lecture on “Cross-cultural Communication of International Organizations”. Over 200 teachers and students from DUT, Dongbei University of Finance & Economics (DUFE) and Dalian Maritime University (DMU), attended the lecture online. The opening ceremony was chaired by Chen Hongjun, Dean of the School of Foreign Languages, DUT, and the following lecture was chaired by Ding Man, Vice Dean of School of Foreign Languages, DUT. Cao Jingxiang, a teacher from the School of Foreign Languages, DUT, introduced basic information and arrangement of the training lectures. Officers in charge from Academic Affairs Office of DUT, Graduate School of DUT, International Office of DUT, Office of Admission and Student Employment of DUT, School of Foreign Languages of DUT, DUFE and DMU attended the opening ceremony and lectures.
DUT’s second series of training lectures on “global leadership” for young talents was hosted from June 24th to July 3rd, 2022, including 11 lectures presented by experts and 2 sessions for exchanges. The training program involved a variety of contents, such as global leadership, relevant national policies, programs for young talents, internship experience exchanges, personal written statement, and group investigation and research, etc., which attracted 192 students participating from DUT, DUFE and DMU. The first lecture on “A Community with a Shared Future for Mankind: China’s new world view” was given before the opening ceremony by Zhang Ji, Dean of Department of Diplomacy Studies, School of International Relations & Public Affairs, Fudan University. On June 25th and 26th, several lectures were delivered by He Changchui, academician ofInternational Eurasian Academy of Sciences and distinguished professor at School of International Studies, Peking University; Wang Zhijia, adjunct professor of Tongji University and a board member of U.N. Association of China; and Wang Jue, director of International Office at DUT. These received overwhelming responses and positive feedback from teachers and students. From July 1st to July 3rd, the training continued and authoritative scholars and experts in relevant areas interpreted knowledge on global leadership and exchanged their experiences.
