China-Belarus International Cultural Exchange Center
The “China-Belarus International Cultural Exchange Center” was established on September 6th, 2007, based on the School of Foreign Languages and the School of International Cultural Exchange of Dalian University of Technology. The establishment of the center provides a platform for our university to cooperate with institutions of higher learning and research in the Republic of Belarus, as well as those in neighboring Russian-speaking countries in the fields of education and research, becoming a window for mutual understanding and cooperation between the two sides. The director of the center is Professor Jiang Qun, and the main members are teachers and graduate students of the Russian Department.
Main works (of joint efforts):
In scientific research:
- extensive international research cooperation in linguistics (including contrastive linguistics), translation theory, and intercultural communication;
- scientific research on the teaching methods of linguistics, Russian language and literature for foreign students and Chinese language and literature for foreign students;
- international academic seminars and other forms of scientific research activities;
- exchange of teaching and teaching research literature;
- teaching materials and reference books on linguistics and literature;
- bilingual (Chinese-Russian or English-Russian) magazines at the Belarusian State University to introduce political, economic, scientific and technological information in Belarus and other CIS countries.
In teaching:
- the establishment of “Russian Language and Literature” and “Chinese Language and Literature” in their respective universities, focusing on applied linguistics, language and literature, translation theory, Chinese affairs, international economics and trade, etc.;
- lectures on linguistics and literature courses and other special topics;
- exchanges of teachers’ lectures, teachers for the purpose of professional improvement; exchange of postgraduate and undergraduate studies (language intensive learning), university students in the 4th and 5th years for the purpose of preparing the academic year paper and graduation thesis in Russian, Chinese and literature, and master students for the purpose of preparing the graduation thesis in linguistics, Russian, Chinese and literature pedagogy.
Other aspects:
- educational technology tours, winter and summer teaching tours for Chinese and Belarusian (or other Russian-speaking countries) scientists, teachers, scholars, graduate students, undergraduates, etc.
