STUDY ABROAD AGREEMENT

BACKGROUND

(A)DUT is a public research university and is among China's top universities for engineering and technology. It is a Chinese Ministry of Education Class A Double First Class University and one of the national key universities administered directly under the Ministry of Education of China. DUT provides undergraduate and graduate instruction in engineering, natural sciences, technology, managerial science, economics and et al. DUT belongs to the "Double First-Rate", "985 project", "211 project" and the "E9 Group" of China

(B)UOS is a research led British University in which teaching and learning take place in an active research environment. UOS is committed to the advancement of knowledge through critical and independent scholarship and research of international significance; the communication of knowledge in an active learning environment involving staff at the forefront of their disciplines; and the application of knowledge for the benefit of society, both directly and by collaboration with other organisations.

(C)UOS has developed a Study Abroad (“SA”) Programme to provide eligible students with an opportunity to experience the educational, social and cultural opportunities of life and study in the United Kingdom.

(D)The Parties believe that the SA Programme provides an opportunity to further the advancement and dissemination of learning, to enhance the international aspects of their activities and to provide unique educational and cultural opportunities for their students.

SA PROGRAMME

The SA Programme is comprised of various optional components:

1. one semester of academic study in Semester 1 or Semester 2

2. one full year of academic study (Semesters 1 and 2)

3. Summer Pre-sessional English courses may be offered in July and August to SA Programme students prior to the commencement of Semester 1. The additional costs for this are to be paid by the SA students and details of these costs as amended from time to time can be found on the UOS website.

Theacademic study will include the student’schoice of units from a range of degree programmes offered as advised by UOS to DUT from time to time.
